Hey travellers!
Berschnerfall is one of the less known places in Switzerland. The fact that it doesn’t have its location tag on Instagram tells me that it hasn’t been discovered by Instagrammers and travellers. In the maps you can find it under the name Berschnerfall, but the path is marked slightly different. The water falls from 30 meters and is an important source of energy for local hydro power plants.
How to get to the waterfall?
The waterfall is located in Switzerland just a few kilometres from the border with Liechtenstein. The nearest large city is Vaduz. You have to get to a village called Berschis. At the church, join the road that leads to Hochweise. Drive through the forest and after a couple of minutes you’ll see a small wooden sign “Zum Berschis Wassefall” on the left (see photo). Aha! So now it’s not Berschnerfall but suddenly it’s called Berschis Wasserfall? The Swiss want to confuse us haha! 🙂 You can park your car a little higher.
The viewpoint is reachable in about 10 minutes of walking. I recommend good shoes because the path is pretty steep and muddy. You can go down to the foot of the waterfall, where you will find a picturesque wooden footbridge. The way down takes another 10 minutes.
