Hey guys!
So since it’s a new year, I decided to review my year 2016. Honestly, I had to go through my blog because I wasn’t able to think of anything I did last year, haha:) My memory is sooo bad!
And how was the year 2016 for me in one word? Exhausting.
There was a lot of bad stuff that happened last year. I had a car accident twice, I lost my beloved camera, missed a flight once and had to buy new tickets, I cracked my shin bone, dropped a plate on my toes in the gym and lost two GoPros.
Not to be too pessimistic, there was a lot more of the good stuff and since I’m quite a positive person, those good things are more important for me. I visited Australia, New Zealand, England, China, Slovenia, Valencia, Austria, Iceland, Venice, Emirates and Slovakia. Ughhh that’s a hell of travels! I bought a new car, joined the Elite Bloggers, did paragliding and successfully finished another year at university.
So let’s review every single month of my year, because there was always something special!
JANUARY & FEBRUARY
Right after exams in January, I flew to Australia and New Zealand (with a layover in Beijing) to have my biggest, longest and most beautiful trip in my life. I spent two amazing months there and definitely want to come back eventually.
MARCH
In March, I went to the Slovakian High Tatras, already as a part of Elite Bloggers, where we spent unforgettable three days full of skiing, wellness and some great food.
APRIL
At the beginning of April we got to run our first Spartan Race and at the end of the month, I went to my beloved Tatras to climb the summit of Krivan. Even though we couldn’t reach the summit because of snow, it was a great spontaneous trip! 🙂
MAY
In May I was studying for my finals really hard, so I didn’t have much time for the travels, but at least I went to Sumava, where I got to participate in shooting a promo video for Lift-Off and had some great times there. By the way, you can find the final video on my Facebook page, where I shared it quite recently.
JUNE
Surprisingly, I didn’t do anything in June, probably because of the finals…
JULY
My July was really exciting because there was a lot of stuff I did. All the travels were as a reward for my (successfully passed) finals. At the beginning of July I went to Karlovy Vary International Film Festival, where we spent four days with the other bloggers and even though we were “working”, I had the best time!
I left two days earlier from the festival because of my planned trip to Slovenian mountains, where we decided to climb Triglav. I haven’t done any more exhausting hike and I couldn’t walk for another week after this hike, but it was totally worth it!
Right after coming back from Triglav, I flew to Valencia, where my mom actually went for her business trip, but she took me with her & her colleagues from work.
AUGUST
August was not any less adventurous than July. I did some paragliding (actually it was my second time, but since I was about 6 the first, I don’t really remember much from that), which was an unforgettable moment too! I got that as a Christmas present from my mom, but just waited for the right weather.
Also, we managed to run our second Spartan Race, this time in Litovel, and it was even better than the first one! 🙂
One of the most beautiful trips I’ve ever done took place in August 2016. I flew to Iceland, where I spent awesome 16 days. And I will definitely never forget these days. I won’t be lying if I say, that Iceland is the most beautiful country I’ve ever been to in my whole life!
SEPTEMBER
In September another shooting for Lift-Off in cooperation with Mini took place. Also, I ran the 5 km race and got my new record – 21 minutes.
OCTOBER
In October I flew to Venice, which was the last city missing on my European-cities bucket list. We spent four days there, had a wonderful time until I lost my camera:(
NOVEMBER
In November I got totally mad and headed to the Austrian Alps to hike the Grosses Wiesbachhorn. We didn’t reach the summit because of possible avalanches, but I don’t really mind, since we were really close and got almost the same views.
DECEMBER
In December we went to the Emirates and explored Dubai and Abu Dhabi. It was our first Christmas, which we didn’t spend home but somewhere else. And it was amazing!
And how was your year, guys? You can put some stories into the comments below, what was good and bad about 2016 for you? 🙂 I’d love to read some of your experiences as a part of my procrastination process and maybe you guys will inspire me too! 🙂
Anyways, I wish you all the best in 2017 (especially a lot of traveling!:)). Make some time for yourself and don’t work all the time, guys (right, mom?!). Actually, I never have any New Year’s resolution, I just keep saying that “you only live once” and life is too short to worry about everything, be working all the time and be unhappy. So guys think about it at least once and try to live your life as you’d die tomorrow.
And also, I’d like to thank you all because without you, I wouldn’t be where I am right now. Thank you all for the support you’re giving me and I hope that I will inspire you by my crazy life even in the new year. <3
Love,
E.
