I took my mom to ROME

Hey travellers!

Finally, I have for you the last part of our Italian trip and it is about ROME.

We traveled to Rome by early morning train from Naples which offered us a FULL (!! :D) day and a half in there. Unfortunately we underestimated the situation and found out that we would have to spend here at least a week to see everything we wanted. We were unbelievably lucky because we found an apartment in Vatican City (about 200 metres from Piazza San Petro. The weather was perfect – 23 degrees and partly cloudy (note: partly cloudy is actually so much better for taking pictures than clear blue sky, it makes the photo much more interesting).

As early as we saw the line for the St. Peter’s Basilica we knew that we can’t afford to waste our time and we paid for the guided tour (even though I really hate guided tours, we saved 4 hours of waiting to get to the Basilica and another 4 to the Sistine Chapel). The guide was an enthusiastic historian so instead of taking 2.5 hours to guide us it took almost 5!! Which caused that we didn’t have much time to do anything else that day so we run to couple of churches and got to see the Colosseum at night. The next day we had to hurry again because our flight was scheduled for 5pm. We at least made it to Roman Forum and the rest of the churches. What an ordinary person would see in 5 days, we got to see in a day and a half, which I find quite extraordinary:D We checked our pedometer and found out that we walked over 27 kilometers!! And we rode the subway three times!:D

Do you like the photos??:) And what about you, how did you like Rome? :))
E.
