Hello everyone!
The Landwasser Viaduct has been in my bucket list for a long time, and I finally got lucky this time. Unlike Berschnerfall, this place is quite a tourist attraction, which is not surprising at all. The view of the 65-meter-high viaduct, which an iconic red train crosses every twenty minutes, is truly spectacular. It was raining a bit that day, so there were absolutely no people. But I wouldn’t want to risk a sunny weekend on a 2×2 meter wooden platform.
The viaduct is listed in UNESCO and was built between 1901 and 1902, renovated in 2009. The railway leads to the famous ski town of St. Moritz, so if you have more time, you can go for a ride.
Kuba had already been to the Landwasser Viaduct in the winter, so you can check out his article.
How to reach Landwasser Viaduct?
The parking lot is just off the main road leading to Filisur. From there you have to walk. It takes about 15 minutes to get to the platform. Even though some sections are quite steep, we managed it in sneakers, so I don’t think you need hiking boots.
