Holanske rybniky are perfect day trip from Prague. The surroundings of the ponds are interspersed with countless walking trails, one more beautiful than the other.
We went from Holany to the so-called Sheepbridges, which kind of resemble Scotland or Ireland. There’s a little stone bridge under the name Ovci mustky.
If you park in the Holany, you will follow the Holansky pond, pass the Milcansky pond and reach the Hráz pond through the forest. That’s where you’ll find this old stone bridge. You can even start your walk in Malý Bor, just off the Dolanský pond.
When we got back to the car, we didn’t want to go home yet, so we took the back roads. We reached an old round building. It’s hidden in the forests of Bažantnice, and the only way to reach it is by jeep, so if you’ve got one of those, you might as well use it. Of course, you can walk to the house as well.
