Hey travellers!
As I promised – here comes the first part of our travels from last week – NAPLES.
We flew in really early in the morning and the plan was to leave our bags at the hotel and head out straight to Pompeii, spend couple hours there and then come back to Naples. So we actually had only the afternoon and night in Naples, which meant that we had to literally run to see all the sights. And impressions?
1) It may not seem like it in the photos but it is the dirtiest city I have ever seen! It is well known that Italians don’t really take much care of their landmarks, but this was really something…
2) In almost every street you could see laundries hanging from side to side, it felt like in some kind of ghetto:D
3) I don’t think I saw a single car without bend door, couple scratch marks or mirrors that had not fallen off.
Enough with the badmouthing, now to some nice memories. We saw the historical center, all the churches and temples, but the most amazing memory comes from visiting Castel Sant’Elmo, from where you could see the whole city. Although it took us a little while to get up there, having to climb several hundreds of stairs, but the view was worth it. Another nice experience came from food – of course we had pizza (which btw comes from Naples!), but we also tried the typical dessert Sfogliatella. We walked the esplanade where we tasted local wine so it was easier to walk back:))
Check out the photos so you can see for yourself what it looks like:) And what about YOU? Have you been to Naples?? What did you think about it? 🙂
