I only have one picture here today, but it’s a little special. Maková Hora, which translates into Poppy Mountain, is just outside the village of Smolotely near Benešov. It’s a pilgrimage site that includes a beautiful Baroque church. Unfortunately, we weren’t able to get inside, so I have no idea whether it’s open to the public or not.
But as you can see in the photo, the Maková Hora church looks the best frome a drone because it stands out in the landscape for its location. There is nothing but beautiful forests, which, moreover, turn incredible shades in the fall.
You can park about 1 km from Maková Hora right in Smolotely, and you have to walk up. But the hill itself is riddled with many paths, so you can get to Makova Mountain from all different directions.
