Hello travellers!
Mountain passes in the Dolomites. Love at first sight. Whichever you decide to explore, you won’t regret it. I have already seen all of them. Before my seventh roadtrip I was missing three – Passo Giau (have you seen my article about it?), Pordoi Pass and Sella Pass. All three are on one road.
Giau was definitely the most beautiful one for me, but for example at Pordoi they have a great cafe right on the pass, where they serve pretty good coffee. Many people use this café as a perfect viewpoint. You can see the whole ridge and a small chapel on the opposite hill, which can be easily (if there are not three meters of snow) reached.
We just stopped quickly at Sella Pass, but there are a lot of hikes that must be stunning in the summer. In the winter (but also in the spring) you won’t be able to hike anywhere without snowshoes. Even so, it’s worth a car ride and a quick walk around each pass! 🙂
