Exploring the Czech Republic – Chateau Hluboká

Heyyyyyy travelers!

What kind of a report from South Bohemia would it be, if I didn’t write a few lines about the castle Hluboka. In my opinion, it’s the most beautiful chateau in the Czech Republic (maybe a bit kitschy tho), to which every Czech should pay a visit at least once. It was my second time here, but I was a little girl when I was here for the first time, so I don’t remember anything.

The foundations of the castle date back to the 15th century, but it was demolished and rebuilt in the Gothic style in the nineteenth century. It was inspired by the famous Windsor Castle in England. Today it is surrounded by incredible gardens, a green park and various pergolas. You can pay a tour and get to the 52-meter tower. I got there late in the afternoon, so tours were not possible anymore.  The last one is around 5pm I think.

And what about you guys? Have they been in the chateau Hluboka yet? 🙂
